Paper Couture

Being sustainable about your art work is not for everybody (it should be), but when you team up with conscious artists you can take your work to the next level. From brown paper, toilet paper and tracing paper to old magazines and newspapers, Paper Couture series shows that mash- ups can be created with paper, that usually are thoughtless and mindless for so many people in everyday life!

“But a little bit of imagination and some assistance – in the form of gum tapes, raffia string, aluminium foil, cling wrap, egg trays, bubble wrap and last but not least trash bags, go a long way in transforming rubbish into wearable art , a truly modern artefact or what we like to call, paper couture”.

  1. Please give even just a single dollar to help cancer patients and their families who are struggling through treatment and to search for a cure. Every dollar counts. LLS is a wonderful organization with a worthwhile cause. I am part of their Team in Training program and I’m working hard to prepare for a 26.2 mile marathon in honor of those that are fighting blood cancer and those who lost their battles and lives. Every 4 minutes someone is diagnosed with a form of blood cancer and every 10 minutes someone with blood cancer dies. We need a cure and every dollar counts. I couldn’t save my Mom, but I want to help make the future look brighter for my sons.

  3. I totally agree with your “art (should be) sustainable” comment! I use recycled/upcycled when I can as well. The designer above was truly innovative and did a great job of making the unusual beautiful. Thank you for sharing, Chicquero!
