This editorial is called “Decades“ and showcases the collection of Spanish fashion designers from Barcelona Oihana Garaluce and Georgiela Jose shot by Anabel Luna.
I know we usually post editorials with many pictures but this particular one got my attention because it was not just about appreciating fashion over decades, it’s about their concept over the years! The forties, sixties, eighties and 2011 are very well represented by the designers pieces. Looking at this work I was asking myself how fast fashion and trends will change from now on? Is it going to be a way faster than before, than now? Are designers going to keep their designs more true to their references or more crazy? Is conceptual fashion becoming commercial? Costume designs are becoming cocktail dresses? What is “crossing the line”?…
Well, all those questions can sound stupid to some people or maybe kinda weird to others, but all I know is that fashion (my fav type of art) is so intriguing, interesting, insane, nostalgic, mutant, transforming, outrageous, minimal over and over the decades… and it will always make a statement!

I was recently exploring the designer Liz Black from England, whose 2011 collection was a conceptual range of concentric circles in dresses etc. It was fascinating and lady gaga wore one of her designs. I think fashion should be about breaking rule, so it’s great to see images like these in the post.

OMG, Nicole! The 20´s!!!! of course is on the list of my fav decades, unfortunately the spanish designers did not showase it in this series!

One word: MAGNIFIQUE…. Ok i lied. {just a few more} Fashion is power for me. I love how every era speaks volume. The story we tell daily about who we are and what we want almost always transitions into what we put on our backs.
