World peace…

Miss World

Tony Kelly is a Dublin born photographer with world class experience. This is not the first time we post his work but this time I found out a little more about him. It´s interesting that  his career started at Independent Newspaper Group and spent his formative years covering tons of people and places that many of us never want to see (nothing less than the civil war in Rwanda and the war in Afghanistan). After eight years of covering conflicts, tragedies Tony decided to move his focus to fashion. Unsurprisingly considering his experience and expertise in the world of news photography, he´s definitely not afraid of emotions or flesh…

Mr. Kelly´s fashion photography trademarks are dynamism, sex, relationships, boundaries that are transgressed, beautiful men, beautiful women, ugly emotions, ecstasy, ferocious colour, darkest black and total dedication to the integrity of the shoot. Spontaneity capturing a moment in time – and out there voyeurism are key aspects to his work.

In this particular editorial, Tony showcases some miss´s struggles in this plastic world of beauty in a very comic and kinda trashy way. The colors and lighting are a plus!

Bravo, Tony!

“Stan Fields: What is the one most important thing our society needs?
Gracie Hart: That would be… harsher punishment for parole violators, Stan.
[crowd is silent]
Gracie Hart: And world peace!
[crowd cheers ecstatically]
Stan Fields: Isn’t she lovely? Thank you, Gracie Lou.
Gracie Hart: And thank *you*, Stan.
[Gracie walks offstage]
Victor Melling: That was charming. Are you drunk?
Gracie Hart: I’m glad you enjoyed it. Now if you’ll excuse me, I have to go unscrew my smile”!

  1. Thanks for keeping us up to date with the latest trends! Thought provoking photography- I can see the connection with his work with the Independent Newspaper Group.

  2. Amazing! Great use of colour and contradiction

Once again – superb post (am I getting tired of singing your praises, yet? Nope! Are you getting tired of hearing them?) ;)

    Thank you!
