The photographer Tejal Patni is behind this dark Splash 2011 Calendar.
“I decided to take color “Black” as my theme. Imagine if we saw all seasons in Color “Black”? what would it be ,or look like? I approached all seasons as if I was writing a script for 12 different feature films, therefore wrote 12 scenes. In my Photography I try and combine my influences of my favorite feature films and work of great directors, I feel its always present in my fashion work. I have combined influences of films,Mr.Tim Burton’s & Federico Fellini’s work & Broadway shows for set inspirations etc.” Tejal Patni

Without black, no color has any depth. But if you mix black with everything, suddenly there’s shadow – no, not just shadow, but fullness. You’ve got to be willing to mix black into your palette if you want to create something that’s real. Amy Grant

This is just wonderful and gorgeous! I’m a fashion stylist, so I know how awesome it is to work with shots like this!. I have sort of the same imagination, I’m hoping that very soon I start photographing fashion like that I do both things!!! This is very inspiring…
