Photo impressionism

11/07/2012 by chicquero

Josh Adamski has captured stunning images and turned them into works of fine art with his keen eye. He was born and raised in the UK and is now based in Israel. Much of Adamski’s work is focused around water as he lives near the beach and draws inspiration from the sea. After a photograph is taken, editing takes place to make the image more abstract and turn it into something even more powerful. The colors that Adamski brings out […]

#InstaGlam

08/17/2012 by chicquero

Photographer Kacper Kasprzyk is thinking outside the box and taking the fashion eye in another direction with this #InstaGlam editorial for V magazine. Imitating this eras photo-sharing trend of Instagram, Kasprzyk adjusts the saturation of this editorial displaying Fall’s latest fashion through another filter.  Models Laura Kampman, Marte Mei Van Haaster, Franziska Mueller, Elza Luijendijk, Zenia Sevastyanova, and Irina Nikolaeva are photographed in a nineties like tiled bathroom in this season’s Fall fashions including Fendi, Chanel, Miu Miu, Proenza Schoulder, Nina […]

Eggs-ploding!

05/15/2012 by chicquero

Great pics by Brooklyn fashion photographer Henry Hargreaves. Hargreaves, who has snapped pictures for Ralph Lauren, Christie’s, GQ, Nylon, and others, shot the photos here as a side project with his friend, the prop stylist Caitlin Levine. Together,  they filled out a bunch of eggs with a psychedelic mix of glitter and neon-colored paint. Then they dropped the eggs on the ground, and Hargreaves tried to capture the cinematic moment when they exploded all over the place. Simple and quite magical, perfect pop […]

See through

04/04/2012 by chicquero

Swedish installation photographer, Helga Steppan assessed all of her belongings to create this series, entitled “See Through”, where she separates everything she owns into color groups, to then build a still life out of each color. Color, still life’s and organized chaos are three things that never fail to secure at least my attention. Very cool! “We ought not to treat living creatures like shoes or household belongings, which when worn with use we throw away.” Plutarch >>>YOU MAY ALSO […]

Splashing some fun!

03/18/2012 by chicquero

Spanish artist Yago Hortal has an incredible style as a painter. He drips, smears, and splashes layers of acrylic paint onto canvas to create these abstract expressionistic arwork. I guess, these explosions of color are probably even more fun to make than they are to look at. Hortal’s work seems like a great balance of cerebral, emotional and physical discharge, what more could an artist want to be fulfilled? ”As long as you’re having fun, that’s the key. The moment […]

Erupting from the canvas

02/28/2012 by chicquero

There’s a tension in Ricky Allman‘s work that’s almost tangible, a tightly coiled arrangement of opposites that seems about to erupt from the canvas. Natural forms – in particular the looming moutains of his home state of Utah – vie with sharply defined shapes that replicate in a kind of sci-fi construction boom. Bursts of colour break from muted palettes; shafts of light pierce leaden skies. The visual drama is intense, the juxtapositions that fuel it brimming with uncertain interpretation. […]

High Speed Liquid and Bubble Photographs by Heinz Maier chicquero

High Speed Liquid and Bubbles

11/04/2011 by chicquero

Bubbly Art  German photographer Heinz Maier created a fabulous technique of high-speed photography, shooting colorful liquids. That´s a pretty neat job considering that he began taking photographs less than a year ago in late 2010. He is focusing in experimenting macro photography, mostly insects, animals, and these superb high-speed water droplets. These photographs/sculptures are simply outstanding. Take a look at the colors, lighting, and the reflection of water, it’s hard to believe these aren’t digital. Keep it up, we love it! Check it […]

Let me tell you this much…

10/19/2011 by chicquero

(Oh man, he´s awesome!) Ryan Schude is a Los Angeles based photographer that focus his artwork around a conceptual and narrative framework. He knows how to  blend kinda fine art background with a more real look in order to create multiple stories within each photo. Ryan owns a really dope style… colors, atmosphere, characters,  scene, the whole production is super unique and eye catching. Believe me, he can tell you a great story through his photos! “That’s the mark of a great storyteller, never to give away secrets in advance”. Ian […]

Color Blocking is not for amateurs..

09/17/2011 by chicquero

Conor Cronin They like to say that Color blocking is the mix of large chunks of color, Cronin sets the bar for color block. Love  his way to paint solids in an interesting shoot. The statement is colorful, loud and artistic. We are like chameleons, we take our hue and the color of our moral character, from those who are around us.
