Lady homeless cardboards

04/01/2013 by chicquero

We thought it was a very cool concept when we saw Ranya Mordanova cuting a striking figure in all black looks for this series shot by Nikolay Biryukov. The story is inspired by Chuck Palahniuk’s book, “Haunted”, which depicts a character named “Lady Baglady” who pretends to be homeless to escape the boredom of her wealthy life. With that influence in mind, Ranya is shown wearing the sleek styles of Alberta Ferretti, Chanel, Emilio Pucci and Dolce & Gabbana amongst […]

Sci-fi high fashion

11/30/2012 by chicquero

The theme of this Vice German editorial is appropriately science fiction. With a title Weltraumober that translates to “Space Top”, it is only natural that space would be at the top of people’s minds as they browse through it. From the futuristic fashion to the slew of neon lights, the photoshoot may very well inspire the wardrobe for the next big sci-fi flick. Shot by Elizaveta Porodina, a freelance photographer based in Munich, she relies heavily on vibrant motion, light […]

Seriously, it’s just a matter of taste.

11/09/2011 by chicquero

Some people say that the best photographers are graphic designers first cause they’re aware of color, forms and negative space. Well, who am I to disagree? Italian photographer Fulvio Bonavia really impresses us with his surprising work made with edible elements. Bonavia merges the natural with the manufactured in his work, his last book “Matter of Taste” is really delightful. Love the fact that still life meets high fashion meets ingeniously creative… so clever! “Love of beauty is taste. The creation […]

Stone the crows!

10/29/2011 by chicquero

“Every so often a shoot will come out to remind us that Lara Stone is impossible. The sort of impossible that defies nature, goes against the laws of physics, and leaves us scratching our heads in dismay. If you wondered what might happen to the trend of nudity in fashion then this shoot for Interview may at least set those questions to rest, for as long as there is Lara the trend is not going to go away.” And should […]

french revue de modes chicquero

Like a knight in shining armor.

10/25/2011 by chicquero

Paris based photographer Ishi and stylist Zeina Esmail collaborate to produce this editorial for French Revue de Modes. Featuring Naty Chabanenko, she sports armor-like and architectural silhouettes from Gucci, Chanel, Thom Browne, Maison Martin Margiela, Burberry Prorsum, Louis Vuitton, Sonia Rykiel, Prabal Gurung and others. Asymmetrically cropped tresses by Kayla MiChele and dramatic make-up by Lottie Stannard give Naty a tough as nails edge. It turned out pretty dope, enjoy!   “The best armor is to keep out of range”.
